European tourism has shown its interest in the paradisiacal destination of Tulum. Discover Airlines will connect Europe with Tulum Airport.

Discover Airlines, the leisure airline belonging to the prestigious Lufthansa Group, has marked a watershed by becoming the first European airline to establish a route to the Felipe Carrillo Puerto International Airport in Tulum, Mexico.

This announcement not only strengthens the airline’s presence in Mexico, but also opens a new corridor between Europe and one of Mexico’s most vibrant tourist destinations.

Establishing Routes From Frankfurt

New Horizons for Tulum

Starting December 12, 2024, Discover Airlines will connect Tulum with Frankfurt, Germany, offering services until April 2025. The operation includes two weekly flights, which represents an unparalleled opportunity for European travelers eager to explore the wonders of the Riviera Maya.

The flights will be carried out on Airbus A330-300 aircraft, which have a capacity of between 283 and 302 passengers and offer different travel experiences through their business, premium and economy classes.

Expansion in Mexico

Tulum joins Cancun as the second Mexican destination served by Discover, thus consolidating its commitment to tourism in Mexico. During the high and low seasons, the airline already operates up to six and four weekly flights, respectively, to Cancun.

With the inclusion of Tulum, the Yucatan Peninsula will enjoy unprecedented connectivity with Germany, reaching up to a daily flight.

The Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council has revealed during the International Tourism Fair in Madrid that they are in talks to attract more airlines from Europe, including companies from Switzerland, Germany and Spain, to Tulum.

To date, most of the airlines announced for the Tulum airport were from North America, promoting connections with the United States and Canada.
