Aware of this, the local council has obtained approval from the Contribution Fund for the Strengthening of Municipalities (Fortamun-DF) to allocate 13 million 143 thousand 449.85 pesos for the creation of security supervision arches in Tulum, of which 4 million 874 thousand 930.85 pesos are a recent increase.
In accordance with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s announcement about the additional deployment of 3,200 National Guard agents to patrol critical areas such as the Mayan Train, airports and other points of interest, the local government is on the path to requesting more troops.
The objective is to strengthen security in crucial places, such as the coastal area, archaeological sites, the El Jaguar National Park and the urban heart of Tulum.
