United Airlines Announces Direct Flights to Tulum

United Airlines expands its connection with Mexico and joins the network of airlines interested in operating routes to Tulum Airport: United Airlines Announces Direct Flights to Tulum.

United Airlines has taken a big step by announcing its new offering of non-stop flights to the upcoming Tulum International Airport (TQO) in Mexico.

Starting March 31, 2024, the airline plans to operate 22 weekly flights from key cities such as Newark/New York, Houston and Chicago.

Additionally, starting May 23, the airline will include daily seasonal service from Los Angeles, adding up to five daily flights from United’s main hubs to Tulum in the summer.

These flights will be available for booking starting November 18.

Tulum: A Booming Destination for American Travelers

Mexico remains a favorite leisure destination, and Tulum, located about 90 miles south of Cancun, has quickly emerged as one of the most sought-after places by American travelers.

The soon-to-open Tulum International Airport will provide United customers with more direct access to this vibrant city and the popular Riviera Maya, complementing the airline’s existing services to Cancun and Cozumel.

Patrick Quayle, senior vice president of Alliances and Network Planning at United, highlighted the importance of Tulum in the tourism landscape.

“Tulum is a bucket-list destination thanks to its incredible beaches, cuisine and a region that combines history with exceptional natural beauty,” said Quayle. “Our new direct flights will make it easier for travelers to arrive faster, maximizing their time in one of the most attractive corners of Mexico.”

United Airlines: Leader in Flights to the Riviera Maya

This winter, United will position itself as the largest US airline operating in the Riviera Maya, offering the most flights to Cancun in its history.

The airline will schedule more than 200 weekly flights from eight US cities to Cancun in the peak season, including services on the Boeing 777, one of the most prominent wide-body aircraft in its fleet, from Chicago, Denver and Houston .

In addition, United will maintain its flights between Cozumel and cities such as Chicago, Denver and Houston, with up to 11 weekly flights this winter.

Expansion in Latin America and the Caribbean

At the same time, United is increasing its presence in Latin America and the Caribbean by 25% during this winter season, remaining the US airline with the most extensive network to Central America.
