The first airline to officially land after the inauguration ceremony: Viva Aerobus Launches Tulum Airport with flight VB9360.

Viva Aerobus has been recorded in the history books by being the first airline to operate a commercial flight to the newly inaugurated Tulum International Airport.

The airline has announced three emerging routes: Mexico City, Felipe Ángeles and Monterrey, marking a promising beginning in the history of this airport located in the iconic Riviera Maya.

A Boost to Tourism and the Economy

Juan Carlos Zuazua, general director of Viva Aerobus, expressed his enthusiasm for the opening of this new air terminal. According to him, this infrastructural expansion will not only offer more options and attractive rates to travelers, but will also increase competitiveness, tourism and economic benefits in the region.

The arrival of the Tulum Airport is seen as a catalyst for tourism and commercial development in the Riviera Maya.

The Debut of Viva Aerobus in Tulum

The first Viva Aerobus commercial flight that touched down in Tulum was VB9360, from Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), landing at 1:15 p.m. with 179 passengers on board.

This historic event was followed by another flight that arrived from Monterrey at 1:25 p.m. with 155 passengers. These inaugural flights mark the beginning of a new era for air transportation in the Riviera Maya.

Route Expansion

Viva Aerobus also announced the inauguration of additional services from Guadalajara to Tulum starting December 16, followed by new service from Tijuana a day later.

These new routes mean that Viva Aerobus will make almost half a million seats available to its customers annually, facilitating access to the paradisiacal beaches of Tulum from some of the most important cities in Mexico.

This expansion is positive news for the tourism sector, as it will efficiently connect Tulum with the rest of the country.
